Program Overview
The Privacy Rule sets out the requirements for most covered entities to have and distribute a notice of privacy practices (NPP). The NPP must describe the uses and disclosures of protected health information (PHI) a covered entity (CE) is permitted to make, the covered entity's legal duties and privacy practices with respect to protected health information, and the individual's rights concerning protected health information.

Topics of Discussion
During this private interactive session, you are provided with guidance which will assist you with revisiting your Notice of Privacy Practices (NPP) as a result of the 2013 Modifications to the HIPAA Privacy, Security, Enforcement, and Breach Notification Rules (Omnibus Final Rule).

You will gain the knowledge necessary to determine whether your NPP's need to be updated, and if new copies have to be redistributed to your patients or residents.

At the conclusion of this sessions, you will clearly understand why each section of the document is required, and what specific regulation requires it.
